Anxiety Therapist Worthing, West Sussex, Hove, Brighton, East Sussex

Hey, I’m Holly.

Art psychotherapist, arts facilitator and artist located in Worthing, West Sussex and Brighton & Hove, East Sussex,

In my personal and professional experiences I have noticed how creativity offers opportunities for self discovery and connection which words alone can sometimes miss. Art making, mark making and creating is a radical tool for grounding, growth, self care and change. I know; making and creating has kept me connected, grounded and allowed me to explore and play.

I am a fully clinically trained and insured art psychotherapist. I hold an MA in art psychotherapy from Roehampton University. Accredited by the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), the same body that regulates doctors and social workers and a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) and the British Association of Art Psychotherapists.

I have had the honour of working with people across a variety of different sectors inclusive of NHS community teams (tier 1 - 3) in adult learning disability, neurodevelopment and child and adolescent services, school settings (private and comprehensive), charity sectors and in private health sectors.

  • The aim of psychotherapy is not to transport to an impossible state of happiness, but to help acquire steadfastness and patience in the face of suffering’

    Carl Jung

Everybody experiences life differently at different times.

I work in ways that are person centred and integrative.  This means that I meet you where you are at.

I will help you to discover your needs and learn how to communicate them effectively, using a variety of tools to support your individual needs. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, depressed, stressed, burnt out, going through big life changes and transitions, struggling with low self esteem, identity, shame or other psychological difficulties. We can work to find grounding to face all that life offers us.

Some of the ways in which I can support you are:

Talking through and creatively exploring your experiences to see, hear and understand what you are feeling.

Looking at ways to promote and build upon self esteem, acceptance, confidence and kindness for oneself. Helping you to gain a clearer picture of who you are.

Helping you gain clarity on your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Enabling you to navigate things different to find new ways of being.

Exploration of your past in order to have a better understanding of what is happening in the here and now.

Looking at ways to implement positive change in order to walk along a new road and create a different story for the future.

Improve upon self awareness and reflectivity through identifying unknown causes and the triggers in which cause this.

Exploring different ideas and perspectives.

Developing and implementing coping strategies and practical steps to help you feel grounded amongst life’s storms.
